This position supports Chess4Life staff and clients by ensuring exceptional customer experiences, precise organization and administration, and a great attitude. This position entails routine daily administrative tasks including front-desk management, support and coordination of broader projects, and seasonally varied tasks in a friendly workplace serving primarily elementary-age children and parents.  This is a fun and fast-paced environment.

This position works out of our Bellevue Center  Bellevue, WA 98005.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task, and to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, pressured environment

  • Ability to work effectively with children, their parents, and staff

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in a professional business context

  • Meticulous with details

  • Efficient and flexible

  • Able to take initiative

  • Project-oriented

  • Maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude

  • Desire to grow professionally

  • Prefer minimum one year experience in professional customer service position or client-focused office environment

Technical Skills

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills (especially Excel & Word)

  • Minimum 45 wpm typing speed

  • Proficient with computers, internet, and email

Position tasks

  • Respond to email, answer phones, record registrations, enter data, file, collect payments

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Chess4Life services

  • Respond to client inquiries

  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner

  • Various other tasks/procedures as needed

Compensation /  Schedule:

  • Position Type: Hourly Non-Exempt

  • $17 - $20 / hour depending on experience

  • Schedule:

    • Fall to Spring:  Monday - Thursday: 11 AM to 7 PM, Friday: 1 PM to 9:30 PM

      • (occasional Saturday options)

    • Summer: Generally standard business hours
